LILY’S JOURNEY: WE NEED YOUR HELP
This story has touched every heart here at the Niagara SPCA and Humane Society, and we knew you would want us to share it with you too.
Her name is Lily, she’s a sweet Maltese mix who is just six months old. But behind those sweet eyes, is a much bigger story.
When she arrived at our Niagara Falls shelter, our team noticed that something wasn’t quite right. They ordered a few tests, and quickly confirmed that Lily had a liver shunt. Essentially, her blood is bypassing her liver, leaving toxins and other byproducts in her body.
For now, Lily’s on medication and a special diet. It’s a lifeline that is preventing seizures and liver failure.
But this is a temporary solution. Lily has a lifetime of love to give but first needs this single, important surgery.
This is a solvable problem, but not without your help. There is just one surgery standing in the way of a full and glorious life for Lily, not to mention the unconditional love and joy that she could bring to her forever home.
Your gift TODAY gives Lily a lifetime.
This year alone has been one of our busiest care years.
We are stretched to capacity with 300 animals in shelter at our Niagara SPCA and Humane Society sites in Niagara Falls, Port Colborne and Welland. It’s the highest number of shelter animals we’ve seen since before the pandemic.
As you may know, the Niagara SPCA and Humane Society does not receive government funding. The care we provide comes through support from donors like you.
Our mission is to deliver innovative programs and compassionate services that enhance the lives of pets in need, and the people that care for them.
THANK YOU for helping us care for some of the most vulnerable animals in our community. We can’t do this very important work without you,
With my utmost appreciation,
