How to Apply

If you are interested in becoming a dog walker, please download the Dog Walker Application linked below. Once the form is filled out, submit the form in person or by email to the shelter you prefer to walk dogs at.

**The application contains signature fields so be sure to open the document in Adobe Acrobat Reader, not your web browser.

Applicants will need a police check in order to start but this check is free of charge for volunteers as long as they have a letter from the SPCA. We will provide this letter to you once your application has been received either in person or via email. Once we provide this letter, you can access the required Police Criminal Record and Judicial Matters check here

How long it takes to receive a call back from the SPCA will depend on what the current volunteer staffing levels and need at the shelter you’re applying to.
